Purpose:

The purpose of this is to add all required FAQs to put on sprngy website with categories defined.

Below is the list of categories that I can think of:

General

  • What use cases does Sprngy cover?

Sprngy is a unified platform to provide Data Life Cycle Management features on the cloud. It includes data import, data profiling, data curation, data correlation and data analysis  through visualizations through predictions. Sprngy can work with structured, semi-structured and unstructured data. With its Admin interface and model-driven architecture, managing the data lifecycle and adapting to business changes is hassle-free.

  • What benefits does Sprngy deliver?

Often, data scientists end up spending a lot of time in manual or administrative tasks like preparing the data for analysis. Their time should be spent on identifying business insights to continue to provide competitive advantage to their organizations. Sprngy automates the underlying data life cycle management to ensure data scientists’ time is well spent. Additionally, Sprngy provides:

  • What are the key features of Sprngy?

It is a low-code solution designed to lower the adoption barriers for users across roles, experience and technical expertise. This makes Sprngy ideal for organizations of any size, scale or data and technical maturity to adopt Sprngy.

  • What’s the difference between Data warehouse and a data lakehouse?

There are several differences between a data lake and a data warehouse. Data structure, ideal users, processing methods, and the overall purpose of the data are the key differentiators

  • Storage Data Type : Data warehouse Works well with structured data whereas data lakehouse can handle structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data

  • Purpose : Data warehouse is optimal for data analytics and business intelligence (BI) use-case while data lakehouse is suitable for  both data analytics and machine learning workloads

  • Cost : Data warehouse is costly and time-consuming and data lakehouse is cost-effective, fast, and flexible

  • How to optimize cost of cluster?

    • Best way is to monitor the status of the product from your sprngy profile under Manage Products->List Products tab. Using this you can start and stop your product instance. Another way is to setup auto start and auto stop based on a fixed schedule. For this feature request, write it to support@sprngy.com.

  • Does AdminUI work same way on Cluster as Standalone?

    • For the featureset it provides to the users, AdminUI works the same in Cluster and Standalone mode. The standalone mode is ideal for small to mid-size datasets (that also depends on the size of the product you have created.) while the cluster mode is ideal for large datasets. If you have more questions, then do not hesitate to write to support@sprngy.com with the information you need.

  • My data resides in another system. How do I get it into Sprngy?

Sprngy provides a wide array of connectors to facilitate data import. These include:

  1. RDBMS (MySQL, Oracle, SQLite, MySQL Server etc.)

  2. Any cloud storage (Azure data lake, Google Storage, AWS S3 bucket)

  3. Any cloud file systems (Google drive, OneDrive, Dropbox)

  4. CRMs (Salesforce, HubSpot, ZOHO, Microsoft Dynamics)

  5. Marketing (Mailchimp)

Sprngy platform is extensible to support custom connectors. Please contact the support team for additional details. 

  1. I made an error while designing my models. How easy is it to correct that while maintaining data integrity?

    • It’s easy to do through the adminUI. There’s an edit option available for each kind of model. AdminUI can be accessed after signing up for Sprngy.

  2. How technical do I need to be to use Sprngy?

    • Sprngy is a low-code platform. The AdminUI is simple to understand and use. It is important that each user has a strong understanding of the datasets they are going to use. For users writing models or algorithms, programming skills are required. 

  3. Where can I find Product documentation?

    • Once users sign up for the product, they will get detailed instructions and links to the required documentation.

  4. How Sprngy is different from other companies providing similar solutions?

Sprngy is a unified platform capable of data ingestion, storage and reporting, but also is a platform providing you with algorithms and models to innovate your business at scale and speed required.

  1. Can Sprngy platform be customized?

    • Yes, Sprngy is a scalable and extensible platform and allows for customizations to cater to specific market, industry and organization needs.

  1. Where can I ask any kind of questions?

    1. User can visit the our website and fill the details here for any kind of query you have.

  2. What to do when the website/server is down?

    • Please drop an email to support@sprngy.com with the issues you are facing with detailed description / screenshots

  3. What to do when azure resources are not available or not working?

    • Please drop an email to support@sprngy.com with the issues you are facing with detailed description / screenshots. Support will get back to you asap.

  4. One of my users has lost her password and can’t login. What’s the best way to get her a new password?

    • For now, just delete that user and  create a new user with a new password since forgot password functionality is not available or drop an email to support@sprngy.com for more information.

  5. Does Sprngy provide auto start/stop features so that I can optimize my cloud spend?

    • Yes, it does. For now, this is not available on portal. User needs to request this to support@sprngy.com
      Sprngy’s technical team works with the user based on the need.

  6. How can I change the auto start/stop timings? 

    • Once user signs up for the platform, user will need to request for access on cloud and documentation to change the timings by dropping an email to support@sprngy.com or by filling the details here

  7. Can I cancel/update the product immediately after updating it?

    • After updating a product subscription, 20-30 minutes should be allowed for the subscription to be further updates or cancelled. If you still find any issues then feel free to drop an email at support@sprngy.com or fill the details here

  8. What type of data does Sprngy manage?

    • Sprngy can manage structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.

  9. What are the different file formats Sprngy supports?

    • To bring data in Sprngy platform, it supports all different types of connectors to import the data from your source systems. One important thing to note here is that once the data is in Sprngy platform, the data is going to be saved as .parquet file format. 

  10. What is the size and mode when user starts trial on Sprngy?

    • The default size and mode is 4 CPUs,16 GB memory and Standalone respectively in free trial.

  11. What are the different infrastructure sizes available for Sprngy?

This feature is only available to upgraded users

  • As of now, Sprngy is available in the following three different sizes:

    • Extra Small (8 CPUs, 32 GB memory)

    • Small (16 CPUs, 64 GB memory)

    • Medium (32 CPUs, 128 GB memory)

  • In near future, we will be extending it to additional sizes

  1. Can I switch between standalone and cluster mode for HPEL and HPQL?

This feature is only available to upgraded users

  • As on now, this functionality is not provided through portal. If you need this, please write to support@sprngy.com or fill the details here after sign up and upgrade.

  1. Can I switch between available sizes for HPEL and HPQL?

This feature is only available to upgraded users

  • Yes, you can switch between available sizes to scale up and scale down the product you have created from your profile on sprngy portal.

  2. What’s the point of contact regarding payment/subscription related issues?

  3. Can I bring my own Azure Subscription to use Sprngy?

    1. This feature is not available in this release. If someone wants to do this then they need to work with Sprngy for the customization and build an infrastructure in your own Azure Subscription.

  4. I have enjoyed the trial and I am ready to upgrade. What are the steps to upgrade?

    1. If you are happy with the product and want to continue then you don’t need to do anything. Once the trial period ends, it’s going to subscribe automatically for your desired plan. 

  5. How do I cancel my subscription?

    1. To cancel your subscription, you need to sign in and you will see the option to cancel the subscription under your profile.
